Receiving Assistant


Job Overview: The Receiving Assistant is responsible for accurately receiving and returning products from and to the store while keeping a close eye on the quality of the received products Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist in the unloading trucks, checking-in and/or checking-out and counting of merchandise - Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards - Ensure accurate quantity and quality of all received and returned products from and to the store - Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times - Wear the proper safety equipment and follow health and safety procedures - Check the expiry date of products received - Check temperature of all fresh food products - Operate Power jack and other equipment as per Manager request - Communicate with agents of distribution companies and maintain a professional and productive relationship at all times - Follow the cleaning schedules and procedure - Execute daily spot checks on products to ensure that nearly expired items are discarded - Ability to maintain outstanding hygiene conditions - Assist in a proper storage, labeling and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary spoilage and to maintain cost control - Label all products for production and expiry dates - Apply the internal food safety requirements based on the local regulatory and statutory bodies, and on international standards
